When?

Where?

Artesia, NM (or according to Butcher, 50 miles south of reported UFO incidents!)

Why?

Let’s find out!

Kaiser, Inc. is a family business. My stepfather started the company in 1950, and I knew the business would be passed on to me. I took ownership of the company in 1993 and have been operating Kaiser, Inc. for 23 years.

What is one fun fact about your company?

Our local high school football team has won 29 state championships. We rank third in the U.S. for most state championships and first counting championships after WWII. Our buses have carried these teams to every game and championship!

What is one of the greatest challenges your company faces?

We are required to maintain pre-trip inspection records for the lifetime of our school buses. Before using Fleetio, we were storing 240 inspections forms over the lifetime of every vehicle, resulting in 6,960 stored forms in total for our fleet. As a result, when searching for information about a vehicle, such as a part, we had to look through a lot of paperwork. This process was cumbersome and time consuming.

What brought you to using Fleetio?

I started using Fleetio primarily because it is an electronic, web-based software. I always have access to the information no matter where I am. Looking up information, such as a part or fueling number, is now a much simpler process. We no longer have to store thousands of paper inspection forms. When we started using Fleetio, it took a while getting used to throwing away paper-inspection forms, but now I am really comfortable doing it!

All our fleet information is now accessible on any device. Other management software only saves files to specific machines and cannot be accessed from another, so it is difficult to find specific information. Also, when these other management systems have updates, you must manually update it on every device. Fleetio does not have these challenges!

How has your fleet improved since becoming a Fleetio user?

Our fleet operations are more efficient now that our fleet records are electronic. We can pull information quickly for reference or for reports and save a significant amount of time.

Fleetio has helped us improve the tracking of our preventative maintenance program. We can schedule maintenance and receive reminders, so we stay on top of maintenance requirements. Also, since Fleetio’s software is flexible, we have customized our forms and operations specific to our fleet’s needs.

Fleetio also distinguishes us from our competitors. We are able to provide our customers real-time maintenance updates on our buses. Our schools know when an issue is created, when it is resolved and the real-time costs.

Name one of your favorite interactions with the Fleetio team or product(s).

The Fleetio team is great at technical support. Other companies we have worked with in the past did not always look at their emails or respond, but Fleetio is fantastic in this area. If there is an error or feedback for an improvement, Fleetio fixes it immediately and for all users. The greatest thing Fleetio does is listen to users’ feedback and ideas. Keep up the good work!
