Enable, Inc. helps individuals with disabilities to live in their own apartments and homes in the community. The nonprofit agency is devoted to supporting individuals through in home personal care, help with food preparation and transportation, day programs which include transporting participants to and from programs and activities and providing residential arrangements such as group homes. 450 individuals are annually served by Enable.
Vehicles that Provide a Much Needed Service
Facilities Manager Bob Smith oversees the maintenance of Enable’s fleet of 29 vehicles that serve 15 group homes and two day programs by employing Fleetio software. Bob inputs all vehicle information into the database, tracks fuel costs and receives maintenance reminders. Enable’s vans are handicap accessible and need to be monitored closely to keep the lifts running smoothly for consumers who use wheelchairs. This also includes keeping track of fire extinguishers, first aid kits and roadside warning triangles which are all required in handicap accessible vehicles.
Finding a Better Way
Bob discovered Fleetio during an Internet search on Google looking to find a fleet maintenance software for a better way to track the fleet. Previously, the records were written in a binder and logged by hand.

Fleetio allowed Bob to set reminders for each vehicle and only send them in for service when needed. Maintenance costs dropped dramatically and expensive repairs are rare because the fleet is well monitored. Keeping track of warranties by scanning in receipts has also helped keep costs down. After one year of using Fleetio's fleet maintenance software to monitor the vehicles, Enable has saved time, money and made fleet oversight economical.
